Baring My Soul is a category of writing where I share a personal piece of my life’s journey in an effort to do my part in maintaining connection because when we share our stories, we let someone know that they are not alone.
Where would any of us be without our mothers? For certain, we know we would not be here on this Earth.
Everyday, I appreciate my momma more and more for all that she is and has been to me. I want to publicly share a note that I wrote for her today because she is worthy of being praised - today and always.
Much love to every momma out there - literally and figuratively. Much love to everyone who has physically lost their momma - may her spirit love you and the memories lift you. Much love to everyone with a complicated relationship with their momma - may healing find and embrace you. Much love to those who long for motherhood - your time is coming.
Dear Momma,
You have been everything to me. You have done everything for me. I am so blessed to have as you as my momma.
I thank you for instilling God’s love and goodness in me. I remember you always sharing your testimonies and giving the glory when God moved in your life/our lives; I find myself doing the exact same thing. I thank you for raising me into the woman I am today. I know I didn’t always make it easy, but you did it; And you did it well. I thank you for doing your very best and I am grateful your best was and is the best.
My prayer is to always make you proud. My plan is to give you the world. I realize that I am not the woman I am today by chance but because of your influence and the values you instilled in me. I am so grateful.
I love you in a way that I could never express with words. You are the sunshine of my life.
