Baring My Soul is a category of writing where I share a personal piece of my life’s journey in an effort to do my part in maintaining connection because when we share our stories, we let someone know that they are not alone.
Prayer is such an important part of my life. For me, prayer is about talking or communicating with God. Sometimes I say prayers. Sometimes I write prayers. Sometimes I think prayers. A book I was introduced to years ago by Iyanla Vanzant titled “Every Day I Pray” expanded my belief in prayer in an everlasting way. Vanzant writes, “Remember: every thought, every word, every action is a prayer… If we can surrender, give up the need to do it right, by focusing on just doing it earnestly, honestly, and with faith, our thoughts and words will be filled with God’s radiant essence.”
Ain’t no right way. Just do it. Just communicate with God.

Forgive me.

Be with me.
Hold me.
Hug me.
Touch me.
See me.
Love me.
