Wilde Card: The Power Within

We are all living life with different struggles. We are all navigating life, and though we travel our own paths, we encounter the same themes and realities under different circumstances. A tarot deck is representative of the spectrum of the human experience. Each card in tarot has a traditional meaning and each deck the creator’s interpretation of that meaning. Kaila Wilde uses her knowledge and interpretation of the tarot as a personal growth tool and to create an affirmative statement + note to keep us lifted and to remind us that we are not alone.

Each week, take what you need. Leave what you don’t.

Some Sundays, I step away from my standard affirmation/reflection/application format and just go with whatever flow I’m feeling. We refer to said notes as Wilde Cards ;)

Wilde Card: The Magician

In tarot, the magician can represent the personal power we hold over our own lives. Do we control every aspect of what occurs? No. However, we have way more power than we can sometimes give ourselves credit for. Use this week to tap into every piece of the greatness that lives in you.

  • We possess power over the decisions we make.

From the time we wake up until we go to sleep, our lives are filled with decisions that we have to make (even when we don’t want to make them sometimes). Some of those decisions are easy while others are challenging. Regardless, we must come to a point where we can identify and realize that the person with the most power in our decision making is us. This does not mean that other factors do not influence our choices, but it does mean that the ultimate power is ours. And although we do not always have power over the outcomes of our decisions, we will feel more empowered when we realize that any decision we make can be used for our growth.

  • We possess power over how we react.

Things we do not like will happen - people may mistreat or misuse us, situations may not turn out as we had expected, and so on. We don’t have power over these occurrences because we would not allow them to happen if we did. Our power lives in how we react to the various things that happen to us. The power in our reactions is tied directly to the power in our decisions. We can react with love or hate, empathy or vengeance, understanding or willful ignorance. The key here is recognizing that we are responsible for how we choose to react and making sure that as much as possible our reactions are a reflection of who we say we are.

I pray that you receive everything you need to make decisions and react in a manner that aligns with who you strive to be. I know that you can do it because the power to do so is inside of you.
