“i am nothing on my own but everything because of god.”

"A major component in thinking strategically is..."

We are all living life with different struggles. We are all navigating life, and though we travel our own paths, we encounter the same themes and realities under different circumstances. A tarot deck is representative of the spectrum of the human experience. Each card in tarot has a traditional meaning and each deck the creator’s interpretation of that meaning. Kaila Wilde uses her knowledge and interpretation of the tarot as a personal growth tool and to create an affirmative statement + note to keep us lifted and to remind us that we are not alone.

Each week, take what you need. Leave what you don’t.

Card:

King of Swords

Affirmation:

I am a strategic and brilliant thinker.

Reflection:

As the swords in tarot are symbolic of logic, reason, and mental energy, the King of Swords is the epitome of strategic and elevated thinking.

A major component in thinking strategically is being able to assess when to move forward and when to sit tight. Thinking strategically is our ability to see beyond the present and to intelligently use that foresight when making decisions. Additionally, we must come to terms with the fact that sometimes we need to make decisions free of emotional consideration. The truth is there are times and circumstances that arise in our lives where emotions and feelings are best left out of the equation in order to properly solve the problem. While this may come easy to some, it is very difficult for others (for various reasons); Nevertheless, it is vital that if this is a struggle of ours we recognize the value in detaching emotionally in decision making when necessary.

The growth and development required to get to a space where our thoughts do not control us but instead we control our thoughts is celebrated with this card. In order to reach or maintain this heightened level of mental energy and mastery, we must be open to a continuous metamorphosis regarding the way we think. Essentially, we must be willing to metaphorically step outside of ourselves and question if our thoughts are warranted, necessary, and or truth. Being able to grasp the power in seeing certain things from an objective and logical point of view makes us brilliant thinkers.

Application

  • Complete thorough evaluations. Sometimes we are in such a rush to act that we don’t take enough time to stop and fully process things. Don’t be so quick to act that you don’t thoroughly examine your own thoughts and or the thoughts of others.

  • Use objectivity. Our experiences and our perceptions of the world make up a large part of who we are, but we must recognize that the world is much larger than us. Don’t be afraid to step outside of what you know and see things from an impartial perspective.
